What English Programs does Evoke Learning offer?

Evoke Learning’s English Programs are classified under 3 distinct categories:  English for Specific Purpose (ESP), English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Proficiency Exams (EPE).  Evoke Learning’s FluentNow! Programs fall under the ESP classification and are generally designed for the workplace, but differ according to the person’s industry type:

  • Young Professionals – For office-based and corporate professionals.
  • Call Center Agents - For aspiring call center agents or current call center employees looking for career advancement in the BPO service industry.
  • Hospitality and Tourism Front Liners – For professionals in the hospitality and tourism industry.

What is the difference between ESP, ESL and EPE?

ESP, ESL and EPE differ according to the diverse needs of the students, and have their respective curricula to help achieve students’ goals in taking up the programs.

  • English for Specific Purpose (ESP) is targeted towards students who already have basic knowledge of English, but need to refine or hone their skills towards a more utilitarian and context-sensitive angle especially for use in a particular industry or work environment.
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) is formulated with non-English speakers in mind.  ESL Programs assume that the student has little or no knowledge of the English language and will be taught the rudiments of the language during their ESL sessions.
  • English Proficiency Exam (EPE) Programs are skill reinforcement review programs geared towards helping the student pass a particular English certification exam such as the IELTS, TOEIC, and TOEFL.

How long does it take before I see an improvement in my English language skills?

Most of our English Programs consist of forty (40) hours over a four-week period.  Recommended by Evoke Learning’s carefully selected courseware developers, this is the span of time that it usually takes to produce a notable difference in a student’s English communication skills.  Assessment tests at the beginning and at the end of the program also help students gauge their progress.

What kind of opportunities can English communication skills open up for me?

The most apparent benefit of English for anyone is his or her transformation into a globally prepared person.  Take into account the following:

  • Knowing English means that you can communicate with up to 33% of the world’s population.  English is also most useful for international travel, and is considered the language of diplomacy.
  • All jobs require some level of English ability especially for advancement.  Professionals spanning a wide array of industries from engineers to doctors to IT all have one thing in common:  they need English to get ahead and get promoted.
  • The majority of the world’s books, electronic communication and media are in English.

Will I be able to significantly improve my speaking skills once I enroll in your English programs?

Yes.  Assessment tests before and after the program ensure that students can monitor their progress during the training period.  Additionally, Evoke Learning’s English Programs focus on reading, and writing skills as well as speaking/conversational skills.

Do these programs have significant affiliations and/or recognized partners?

Evoke Learning is affiliated with The British Council, IDP IELTS in Australia and ETS – Hopkins International.
